We're the Bear Brothers — a small team of craftsmen who believe your furniture should be as individual as your home. From our Epping workshop, we design, build and install bespoke fitted furniture for families across London, Essex and the Home Counties.
Our Story
Bear Brothers started in 2013 with a simple idea: build furniture the way it should be built — properly. No flat-pack shortcuts, no corners cut, no salespeople between you and the people actually making your furniture.
What began as two brothers with a passion for woodworking and a rented garage in Epping has grown into a dedicated workshop on Lindsey Street, equipped with both traditional hand tools and modern precision machinery. But the philosophy hasn't changed. Every piece is still designed one-on-one with the client, built by hand in our workshop, and installed by the same team that made it.
We've now completed over 500 commissions — from fitted wardrobes in Victorian terraces across Hackney and Islington to full kitchen refits in Essex farmhouses and alcove libraries in Cambridge colleges. Each one unique, each one built to outlast the trends.

Every joint is hand-cut, every surface hand-finished. We use time-honoured joinery techniques — mortise and tenon, dovetail, biscuit — because furniture built properly lasts generations, not years.
Sustainably Sourced Timber
We source FSC-certified hardwoods and sustainably managed softwoods from trusted UK suppliers. No chipboard cores, no MDF shortcuts — just real wood, properly seasoned and carefully selected for grain and character.
Made for Your Home
No two homes are the same, so no two pieces should be either. Every commission starts with a free home visit where we measure, listen and advise — then design something that fits your space, your style, and your life.
5-Year Structural Guarantee
We stand behind every piece we build. Our 5-year structural guarantee covers joints, frames and moving parts — because if we wouldn't put it in our own home, we won't put it in yours.

The Workshop
Our workshop at Unit 5, 135 Lindsey Street, Epping sits at the gateway between London and Essex — perfectly placed to serve homes across both. Inside you'll find a blend of old and new: traditional bench planes and chisels sit alongside a CNC router and edge-banding machine.
This combination lets us work with the precision of modern manufacturing while preserving the hand-finished character that makes bespoke furniture special. Every piece passes through the same hands from raw timber to final polish, and we invite every client to visit the workshop to see their furniture taking shape.
